Fable Farm Fermentory

Fable Farm Fermentory is a working farm, winery and gathering space in Barnard, in the foothills of the Green Mountains. It is run by a collective of farmers, chefs, herbalists, artists and winemakers who make aged wines, ciders, vinegars and non-alcoholic elixirs. Their fermentations are described as living drinks, made from fruit, herbs, tree saps and honey. The collective sees farming as working with the energy of the sun, and it grows its crops in harmony with nature. The kitchen prepares seasonal farm-to-table meals from produce grown on the farm and by partner farms in the Feast & Field farmer cooperative, and it never uses seed oils. Gatherings in the orchard and barn include the Feast & Field Thursday series, Saturday tastings, private dinners, business retreats, art events, theater and live music. Fable also offers seasonal internships for people who want to learn farming.
