Ten Bends Beer

Ten Bends Beer is a Hyde Park brewery that makes small-batch ales and lagers rooted in its region. Mike Scarlata and Jason Powell, now co-owners, began brewing as partners in 2012, working in a rough shed beside the Lamoille River’s ten bends, where they developed their own version of the Vermont-style IPA. Working with homemade equipment in a harsh climate, they describe the brewery as the result of tinkering, careful creative choices and sheer persistence. Today Ten Bends runs a seven-barrel brewery, selling beer on site and distributing it around Vermont. It has also partnered with a larger production brewery to bring its flagship beers to more than six other states. The year-round lineup includes Northern Heights, a Vermont-style double IPA, Green Fountains IPA, Cream Puff War peach double IPA and Sterling Pils. New batches are released every two weeks, and the tasting room offers growler fills.
