Burlington Beer Company

Burlington Beer Co. is an independently owned brewery in Vermont known for inventive beer and original artwork. Production is in Williston, and the taproom and restaurant are in Burlington. Founder Joe Lemnah entered the industry in 2006 at Olde Saratoga Brewing and studied at the American Brewers Guild. He went on to brew at Dogfish Head and at Evolution Craft Brewing, then came back to Vermont. At home he kept experimenting with unfamiliar grains, seasonal ingredients and yeast strains, logging the results in a journal. By 2012 he was developing pilot batches in an old horse barn belonging to his family. He and Beth, who met in 2010 and brewed together, laid the groundwork for the 2014 opening. The first full-scale batch, brewed on a 15-barrel electric system, was C’est Bon!, a table saison in the French style. The lineup spans year-round beers, seasonal IPAs, fruited sours and collaborations.
