Fiddlehead Brewing

Fiddlehead Brewing Company is a brewer-owned brewery in Shelburne that opened on New Year’s Eve 2011. Owner Matt Cohen, known as Matty O, brought more than 15 years of brewing experience and set out to make a consistent, approachable draft IPA on a 15-barrel system. Word of mouth lined up more than 50 accounts before opening day, and early small-batch can releases at the tasting room drew lines. By 2016 Fiddlehead IPA had become the top-selling draft beer in Vermont, and a 30-barrel production brewery was built behind the tasting room. A quality control team and an Always Cold storage policy support wider distribution. In 2021 the brewery moved to a 60-barrel system and a new canning line. Fiddlehead also brews double IPAs such as Second Fiddle and Mastermind, and a share of Mastermind sales funds grants for pediatric health and community wellness.
