Mill River Brewing

Mill River Brewing BBQ & Smokehouse is a brewpub in St. Albans that is owned and run by a family. It grew out of small gatherings of friends and family, where the owners’ hobbies of brewing and cooking turned into a passion, and it opened in the summer of 2017. The name and logo come from childhood memories of Mill River in Georgia, Vermont, and of growing up in the state. Owners Chuck, David and Joyce (Ferland) Fitzgerald run it around three values: sustainability, community and family. The menu draws on Fitzgerald family maple products and Ferland family recipes, with baked goods made in-house and dishes prepared to order. The attached brewhouse uses Vermont-grown hops in some of its beers, and the business works to reduce waste and energy use. The company also runs a separate taphouse serving its beer with wood-fired pizza, along with kegs to go and catering.
