Snow Republic Brewing Company

Snow Republic Brewery is a West Dover brewery with a full kitchen, owned by a Marine Corps veteran. Founder Walt is the son and grandson of Marines and served as a Marine with deployments across Asia, Australia and the Middle East. He then spent about 20 years as a criminal defense attorney. Ready for a change, he saw an opportunity in a building he owned on the main road to a big southern Vermont ski resort, in a top brewing state with no breweries close by. After a year of planning, Snow Republic opened in 2019 with just two beers, an IPA and a porter, poured from a jockey box. The lineup has since grown, and some names are personal, such as Flip Flop and the Major B lager named for his father. The brewery serves beer, wine, cocktails and food, and it welcomes kids and dogs.
